Appalachian State University was one of Medicat's first clients, starting with Practice Management in 1993. Over the years, we have made giant leaps forward, learned what the program could really do for us in terms of reports, time management and clinical tracking.

As the product was updated and improved, we began to see the advantages of EMR in handling the burgeoning amount of paperwork associated with patient care, and the distractions of illegibility, misfiling, and lack of consistent documentation. Medicat had the solution!

Medicat's motto is "Best Product, Superb Execution, Unsurpassed Support" and it's TRUE! I've investigated several different programs, and feel strongly Medicat is the best.

For me, one important area in which they excel is Client Support. When you have a question, you can email or call and get immediate, accurate and helpful information – if not immediately, within the hour. Many of their staff come from a student health background, which makes a big difference in their understanding users' questions. This kind of support is not even approached by other vendors with whom I have dealt.


In June 2008, we will go paperless to a full EMR. I cannot recommend Medicat more highly and I'm sure you'll get the same response from other "Medicaters" as well.
